- Enjoying the sunshine without the high UV risk.
- Hot porridge on cold mornings.
- Warm, thick, fluffy flannelette sheets.
- The clean, crisp air left behind after a stiff southerly's blasted through.
- The restful quietness that comes over the garden.
- Lying in bed listening to the rain ... while snuggling :)
- The look of bliss on Amy's face when I put down my hot Milo mug and hold her face instead.
- Polar fleece!
- Warm clothes straight off the hot water cylinder.
- Did I mention snuggling? ... :)
Yeah, okay, I'm having a good day today! :)

LOL... You are quite obviously the hopeless romantic ; )
Good list... but I think I'll have to go with summer over winter.
I wasn't always that way, but I have grown tired of winters in my old age.
I can GUARANTEE (no matter how much I love this place) that come retirement day (far away as it is), I will be moving some place warm... and there shall I live out my days.
I hope you and your family are having a nice transition to winter, Chris.
Keep in touch.

Aww... winter.
Scarves. jackets, sweaters, mexican hot chocolate (oh yeah baby--you have NO idea) and for california... mild rain.
Maybe, if we get REALLY lucky, thunder. Perhaps even wind--all if which makes for some impressive surf!
